We have 30 mm plastic pushbuttons, switches and pilot lights from Schneider Electric and Crompton Controls.

Biased switches

A switch usually maintains its set position once it has been operated. A biased switch contains a mechanism that springs it into a different position when an operator releases it. Some push-button switches, like the momentary, are a type of biased switch.

Our push-to-make switch is one of the most commonly used. It works by making contact when the button is pressed and breaking it when it is released. A push-to-break, on the other hand, is designed to break contact when the button is pushed.

Selector switch

The standard is IP69K and it always has integrated illumination option. They come in a range of different colours and the switch position is obvious, even from afar. With our range of switch configurators, you can choose the appropriate selector switch by intuition.

The enclosures and labelling can be combined to match particular application requirements, as well as, graphics-based component selection with a drag and drop feature. We also provide a section to preview, so this makes it easier for you to select the item you need.

Relays are electromechanical switches that can be activated by an electrical signal instead of manually opening or closing a switch. Throughout the history of electronics, relays have featured prominently, particularly in the growth of the telegraph network.

There are various types of standard relay configurations, but it eventually boils down to poles and throws. In a relay system, the pole is a switch, and the throw is a possible connection.

The most basic type of relay is a single pole single throw (SPST), which has a dual port, A and B. A single pole signifies a single switch, also indicating that there is only one possible connection (A–> B). When the SPST is switched off, A is disconnected electrically from B.

A standard SPDT (single pole double throw) relay has three ports; A, B and C. In the off position, the SPDT relay may connect A and B, while A and C may be connected in the on position. In an electromagnetic relay, an electric current is used to activate the relay. The current generates a magnetic field that moves the relay’s armature which is used to make or break a connection. A high-power relay uses a double-break design which opens connections in two points. On the other hand, smaller relays are mainly single-break designs.

At TA Boxall Engineering, we offer a complete line of robust and versatile contractors for both NEMA and IEC applications. Our IEC contactors provide AC and DC control. In addition to being adaptable, they are also environmentally friendly. Our NEMA contactors are robust, dependable and provide a long electrical life span.

Combination contactors

NEMA Contactors

Our motor-rated contactors range from NEMA size 00 to 9, in designs (open and closed) for full voltage activation of AC motors. In addition, our contactors are effective in lighting and non-motor loads. We also provide a series of NEMA contactors with certification for marine and other offshore uses.

Control relay

A five-pole relay as standard with 10A thermally-rated contact designed for AC or DC control voltages. There is available built-in suppression with a low consumption and DC control circuit version.

  • Thermal contacts (10A-rated) with operations low as 17V 5Ma
  • Five-pole, complete with AC, DC operations
  • Wide variety of timer modules, latching blocks, and ancillary contacts
  • Four types of connections available; Fast-on connectors, quick-fit spring terminal, ring and screw clamp


Besides its efficient design, TA Boxall Engineering contactors provide a fast and easy set-up while preserving the small size of 45 and 55 mm (40 to 65 A). It also adheres strictly to international specifications.

The 40 to 65 A models have EverLink. This terminal technology guarantees a steadfast fastening even when there is a conductor creep.


Applications for contactors include industry, large buildings, and infrastructure. They can be used to develop motor starters for certain applications.

Our contactors are designed for direct incorporation into control systems, and can also be used to power controls and signal equipment.

DC injections

DC injections are used to slow AC electric motors. In industry, they are applied by injecting a DC voltage into the AC motor winding after disconnecting the AC voltage, thereby applying a braking force to the rotor.

Application of DC injection braking

When power is disconnected from the motor, the rotor spins on its own for a while until the resulting friction brings it to a stop. Massive rotors and loads with a high moment of inertia, take a considerable amount of time to stop rotating through friction alone. To reduce downtime, or probably as a safety measure, DC injection can be used to halt the rotation.

Product collection and delivery for monitoring and diagnosis

If you have issues with your control gear, such as switching, relays, contactors of DC injectors, our company operates a product collection and delivery service. We will conduct a series of tests to monitor and identify the fault before repairing it.
