British Approvals for Fire Equipment (BAFE)

BAFE is an independent registration body for third-party certified fire protection companies across the UK. BAFE develops schemes to support quality standards so that fire protection companies can achieve them and become third party certified.

We are fully certified by this independent body, because we offer fire protection services to our clients. All of our equipment, products and services are of the highest quality

This is why BAFE acknowledged our competency in providing specific fire protection services to our clients.

It is worth noting that BAFE does not just accredit any company without proper auditing and approval. In other words, TA Boxall is a fire protection company that fully meets all of the appropriate standards and was independently audited by BAFE.

BAFE policies are in line with our goals and objectives.

What You Should Know About Our BAFE Accreditation

  • We provide Fire Risk Assessment for your premises and we are registered in BAFE’s Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment SP205 scheme.
  • We provide maintenance services on your fire extinguishers, and are registered under the Contract Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers, incorporating Registered Fire Extinguisher Service Technicians’ SP101/ST104 scheme.
  • We provide fire detection and alarm systems, and are registered under the Fire Detection and Alarm Systems SP203-1 scheme.
  • We provide services relating to emergency lighting, and are registered under the Emergency Lighting Systems SP203-4 scheme.
  • We provide services relating to Fixed Gaseous Fire Suppression, and are registered under the BAFE SP203-3 Scheme.

Atmosphères Explosibles (ATEX)

Due to the nature of our operations, we understand that a potentially explosive atmosphere may occur when a mixture of air gases, vapours, mists, or dusts combine in such a way that can ignite under certain operating conditions, which is why our mode of operation fully complies with ATEX directives.

The ATEX directive consists of two EU directives, which describe the equipment and work environment allowed in an environment with an explosive atmosphere. Our company fully complies with these EU directives and we are fully accredited to operate under them.

The first directive in this scheme is the Directive 99/92/EC (also known as ‘ATEX 137’ or the ‘ATEX Workplace Directive’) which specifies the minimum requirements for improving the health and safety protection of workers who are potentially at risk from explosive atmospheres.

The requirement of this directive is contained in Great Britain’s regulations 7 and 11 of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR).

The DSEAR applies to us because we operate in the UK, and our experts on explosive substances work on potentially explosive atmosphere.

What You Should Know about Our ATEX Accreditation

  • We control and possibly eliminate the risks from dangerous substances.
  • We classify areas that explosive atmosphere may be present.
  • We select and provide safety and protective equipment.
  • We confirm and verify the overall explosion safety.

National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC)

NICEIC is the UK’s leading voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry. NICEIC has been in the business of assessing the electrical competence of electricians for nearly sixty years, and currently has over 26,000 registered contractors.

This is why we relied on NICEIC for our accreditation on electrical, heating, plumbing, renewable and insulation sectors because they have supported our brand through high quality staff inspection.

They are also responsible in partial training, offering technical advice, giving certification and information to our staff on all of the latest industry developments.
